Hey friends! Let’s dive into something that makes our hearts sing here at Wyldwood Creative: sliding-scale pricing for our classes. No jargon, no hoops to jump through - just a way to choose the rate that fits your budget and join our maker community.
Why We Chose a Sliding Scale for Pricing
When we first opened our doors, so many of you told us, “I’d love to learn to sew, but I’m not sure I can swing the cost.” That stuck with us. We believe creativity shouldn’t feel like a luxury. Learning a new skill - whether it’s sewing your first tote bag or taming a serger - should feel like an invitation. Our sliding-scale model is our way of making good on that belief.
How It Works
Booking a class is as simple as these three steps:
- Pick your income bracket from our menu.
- Select the price that matches your bracket (exact rates live on each class page).
- Check the class listing for any required supplies - your serger, fabrics, manuals, etc. - so you arrive fully prepared and ready to dive in.
You’ll see these brackets in every drop-down menu:
- $0 – 60 K
- $60 – 90 K
- $90 – 125 K
- $125 K+
For specific rates for each of these bracket tiers, click into the class listing on our class calendar page!
Putting Sliding Scale into Practice

When someone signs up for our Tote Bag workshop, they’re not just choosing a class - they’re choosing a price that works for their life. In about three hours, you’ll learn to thread a machine, sew clean seams, and add box corners, all while carrying home a durable tote you made yourself. By letting you pick your rate based on household income, we remove that nagging question of “Can I afford this?” and replace it with excitement about digging in and stitching something useful from day one.

Our Book Cover session is another example of sliding-scale magic in action. In just two hours, we walk you through cutting fabric, fusing interfacing, sewing in elastic, and constructing a cover that fits your favorite reads. With tiered pricing, a student juggling bills can pay at the lower end, while someone with a bit more wiggle room picks the upper bracket - yet both sit side by side at the machines, sharing laughs and fabric tips, knowing they’ve each paid exactly what feels fair.

Even our Serger Skill Builder stays true to our inclusive pricing promise. This two-hour deep dive into threading, tension tweaks, and routine maintenance can seem intimidating, but sliding-scale rates make it an approachable next step for confident beginners and seasoned sewists alike. When cost isn’t a barrier, more people brave the serger’s roar, unlock that next level of creativity, and bring fresh energy - and new stories - to our community table.
Scholarship Seats
Cost still feeling tight? We want sewing and creating to be accessible to everyone, so each month we offer three scholarship seats in our Beginner Level 1 class. Just enter code SCHOLARSHIP at checkout to take that class for free, and once those three spots are gone the code will retire until the following month. We appreciate your honest use of this resource - it helps us keep these seats available for makers who truly need them.
