I am so happy to finally be sharing the LoriAnn quilt with you!

This quilt pattern is based on a quilt my mom made back in high school. I’ve had this quilt for years, and it always just sat in my hope chest. The quilting is basically disintegrating so using it isn’t an option, and I didn’t really have space in my home to properly display it, so to the shop it went!
We’ve been getting asked what quilt pattern it is a few times a week since. I searched online for the pattern but couldn’t find anything that matched, so I decided to tackle the quilt math and write the pattern myself. I had a lot of help bringing this pattern to life, and I am so excited that it is finally ready! I can’t wait to see all the quilts that are going to be made.

The bed-size version is an exact copy of the original quilt; it’s a beast! We’ve also included a smaller throw size that is perfect for using any size of precut. The LoriAnn quilt is a great way to show a whole fabric collection or finally use up some of that scrap hoard.
A History of the Quilt Pattern

While we were working on the pattern, I kept calling it the “Mom quilt” since it was my mom’s quilt. I wasn’t really sure what to call it, so I named it after my mom, LoriAnn. It is her design after all! It’s been a lot of fun for me to work closely with something my mom made.

My mom was an incredible artist (although she would never call herself that). She had a true talent for creating, and I grew up living the “well, how hard could it be” life. My mom would see something she liked, but couldn’t afford, and would figure out how to make it herself. Together, we did everything from refinishing furniture to recreating home decor we saw on Martha Stewart. There wasn’t anything we couldn’t figure out how to make with a little hot glue and determination. That spirit is why Wyldwood even exists. I had an idea and said, “How hard could it be?” And here we are 7 years later. Sharing this pattern feels like a great way to share a bit of who my mom was with all of you.
I hope you all enjoy making this quilt. I really enjoyed creating it.
