Class Description: Join us for a fun and beginner-friendly sewing class where you'll create your very own adjustable book cover! Read your fairy smut in peace, and keep your books in pristine condition while you’re on the go with your new book cover!
In this class, we’ll walk you through each step of making a removable book cover that fits a variety of book sizes. Our detailed instructions will include tips on how to choose the right fabric and how to adjust your cover to fit different heights of books, so it can be used for everything from trade paperbacks to thicker hardcovers.
No prior sewing experience is required—just bring your enthusiasm and creativity! By the end of the class, you'll have a beautiful, unique book cover and the skills to make more for your entire book collection.
Duration: 2 hours
Students Bring: You do not need to bring anything for this class! We will supply the sewing machines and all the tools and materials. Optional: Bring a book you would like to put in it during class!
Please arrive promptly so that you can choose your fabrics before class begins.
Materials Included: Each student will choose 2 fat quarters from our selection of quilting cottons. We will also supply elastic, ribbon, interfacing, and thread. *You are welcome to bring your own fabric as long as it is quilting cotton
You'll Leave With: A book cover that will fit multiple books of the same height, yet different page counts. You will also receive a link to the pattern used in class to make more book covers for your collection.
Skill Level: Beginner Level 1
Skill Details: We’ll cover cutting fabric down to size, marking pattern pieces, using interfacing, sewing in elastic, following seam allowance, and general use of a sewing machine.

Absolutely! We have machines here that you're welcome to use, but if you'd rather use your own that's just fine.

Not really. We'll be around running the store while you're here and can help you if you have issues with our machines or a small question or two, but if you need more hands-on help with you're sewing we suggest checking out one of our classes instead!
