Beginner Sewing Level 1 - Tote Bag

Class Description: Join us for a fun beginner sewing class! We'll take you through the process of sewing your very own reusable tote bag. We'll go over the basics of the sewing machine and cover techniques like seam allowance, creating box corners, assembly, and best practices for creating positive sewing habits.
Duration: 3 hours (we find that students work at different paces, you may finish earlier than others)
Students Bring: You do not need to bring anything for this class! We will supply the sewing machines and all the tools and materials. Our classroom machines are Bernette Academies. Don't worry if you're machine is different, the skills learned in this class will transfer to any sewing machine.
Materials Included: Each student will select a tote kit from our stock of all cotton tote kits. Kits come with the fabric already cut and ready to start sewing.
You'll Leave With: A completed reusable tote bag! Each student will take home instructions for the tote bag so they can make more on their own. Each student will also receive a handout that covers sewing basics like needle types, thread types, and troubleshooting

Skill Details: If you've never touched a sewing machine or if it's been a while this class is for you! We have designed this class to cater to absolute beginners. You do not need to know anything about sewing to take this class. This is where we recommend starting on your sewing journey!

- Refunds: Any class cancellations made more than 72 hours in advance will receive either a full refund on a gift card, or a full refund minus a $5 card processing fee to the card used for registration. This fee accounts for the costs associated with the transaction.

Absolutely! We have machines here that you're welcome to use, but if you'd rather use your own that's just fine.

Not really. We'll be around running the store while you're here and can help you if you have issues with our machines or a small question or two, but if you need more hands-on help with you're sewing we suggest checking out one of our classes instead!
