Cotton thread is typically not as strong as polyester, so we don't recommend it for projects that will put your seams under a lot of stress, like sewing straps onto bags or tight-fitting clothes or accessories. 50-weight cotton thread is known for being strong and thin, which results in flat and crisp seams.
