Introduction to Hand Brooms

All classes are priced on a sliding scale! Select the price that works best for your budget. Use the income table as a guide.

Tier 1: 0-60K

Tier 2: 60K-90K

Tier 3: 90K-125K

Tier 4: 125K+

Description: Join local artist Sarah Benson to learn to weave your own turkey wing and hawk's tail hand broom in this introductory, hands-on class. We will discuss the tools, materials, and techniques for crafting beautiful and functional brooms that will have you sweeping out the corners in style. Open to all beginners. Please be aware that broom making is a physical task and moderate hand strength is recommended.

Duration: 2.5 hours

Students Bring: No need to bring anything we will supply all of the tools and materials!

Materials Included: Broomcorn & nylon twine

You'll Leave With:  Two beautiful hand brooms!

Age Range: This class is designed for adults. Teen 15+ may register with an adult who is also registered for the class.

We release our open-studio times a month out, after we've finalized our in-person class calendar.

Can I bring my own sewing machine?

Absolutely! We have machines here that you're welcome to use, but if you'd rather use your own that's just fine.

Will you be able to help me with my project?

Not really. We'll be around running the store while you're here and can help you if you have issues with our machines or a small question or two, but if you need more hands-on help with you're sewing we suggest checking out one of our classes instead!
