VIRTUAL Beginner Sewing - Chore Coat Jacket
Description: Join us virtually via Zoom to learn how to make the Chore Coat jacket from Ruby Star Society! We'll be following their tutorial and using the new sunshine chore coat toweling releasing in October. This is a great beginner sewing project and a great way to learn french seams! The Zoom meeting will be held December 14th at 10am PST.
Students Will Learn:
- How to measure themselves to determine size
- How to sew french seams
- How to hem
Class Duration: 3-4 hrs
Students Bring: You will need to purchase chore coat toweling for your jacket. To determine how much you will need: Measure how long you would like the jacket to be from shoulder to hem. Double the number and add 5" for hems. Double that number to determine total inches needed. Divide by 36 to determine how many yards needed.
Example: A 30" length jacket
30X2 = 60
60+5 = 65
65X2 = 130
130/36 = 3.61 yds
*Optional Fat Quarter for pockets
*This tutorial and toweling can accommodate up to a 64" hip.
Materials needed to follow along during class:
Rotary mat and rotary cutter OR fabric shears
Fabric marking tool

6"X12" acrylic ruler will be helpful but any sort of measuring tool can work
