Class Description: Learn how to create beautiful blue and white prints on fabric, paper, and more with the art of cyanotype! Using the sun, we’ll print anything from pressed plants to drawings to photo negatives on watercolor paper. You’ll learn how to try this easy and fun historic art form at home, what kinds of materials you can print on, and ways you can use cyanotype in your fabric projects. Every student will leave with 1-2 prints of their own on archival cotton paper, and lots of ideas for their next cyanotype project!
Duration: 2 hours
Students Bring: We’ll supply everything you need to make a print! Optionally, you can bring objects you’d like to use in your print, such as pressed flowers and plants, glassware, or drawings to trace in the workshop.
Materials Included:
Pre-coated cotton watercolor paper, washing trays, pressed plants, nature photo negatives, and clear film if you’d like to print a drawing
You'll Leave With: One to two cyanotype prints of your own! If it’s sunny, we can all make two prints during the workshop. If it’s raining, we’ll each make one print using UV lamps and send you home with a second pre-coated paper to use next time the sun shines!

Age Range: Adults 18+ Teens 15 and up may attend with an adult who is also registered for the class.

- This class is designed for adults.
- Cancellation Notice: Makers are kindly requested to provide a minimum of 72 hours' notice in the event of needing to cancel or reschedule a class. This advance notice allows us to accommodate other makers and make any necessary adjustments to our schedule.
- Refunds: Any class cancellations made more than 72 hours in advance will receive either a full refund on a gift card, or a full refund minus a $5 card processing fee to the card used for registration. This fee accounts for the costs associated with the transaction.
- Late Cancellations: Cancellations made less than 72 hours before the class start time and no shows will forfeit the registration fee.
