Got a hole in your favorite sweater or a well-loved pair of jeans? Don’t toss it! Mend it!
Join fiber artist and author Melissa Galbraith of MCreativeJ for a two-hour, hands-on workshop all about visible mending. You’ll learn two woven patching techniques, darning and buttonhole filling. These techniques are perfect for repairing knits, denim, and other beloved basics.
Melissa will walk you through everything you need to know to get started, from choosing the right threads and tools to customizing your mend to suit your garment. Whether you want your patch to blend in or stand out as a decorative detail, you’ll leave class with the skills to give your clothes a second life.
Duration: 2 hrs
Students Bring:
Attendees can bring a garment to mend or use scrap pieces for practice. Denim and Knitwear work best for these techniques.
Materials Included: Students will have plenty of colors of embroidery floss to choose form for their mends. Hoops, needles, and all other materials will be provided.
Skill Level: Beginner Level 1 no previous embroidery experience required
Vibe: Sociable Stitching. Relaxed and beginner-friendly with hands-on instruction. You’ll get plenty of guidance while making something fun, with built-in moments to chat, connect, and enjoy the process along the way.
Age Range: This class is designed for adults. Teens 15+ may register with an adult who is also registered for the class.

Absolutely! We have machines here that you're welcome to use, but if you'd rather use your own that's just fine.

Not really. We'll be around running the store while you're here and can help you if you have issues with our machines or a small question or two, but if you need more hands-on help with you're sewing we suggest checking out one of our classes instead!
