Emerson Crossbody Bag Class
Ready to level up your sewing skills? The Emerson Crossbody is the perfect intro to bag making for sewists looking for their next challenge. In this intermediate-level class, you’ll learn how to work with a bag pattern, install zippers, and sew a structured, functional bag with confidence. This sleek and stylish crossbody is as fun to make as it is to wear!
The Emerson Crossbody bag is a pattern written by The Blanket Statement. Students will need to purchase a copy of the pattern for class.
This class is great for intermediate sewists and up. If you've made garments, quilts, or other sewing projects and want to try your hand at accessories, this is the perfect next step.
Duration: 4 hours
Students Bring: Students will arrive to class with their fabric pieces already cut out. You may choose to do a solid fabric bag or a quilted bag. You will also need to apply the interfacing prior to class. We will send out a video going over this part of the project. You will also need to bring all needed zippers and hardware. Check out our kits complete with the pattern here.
Materials Included: We will supply the sewing machines and all needed tools.
You'll Leave With: A completed cross body bag ready for your next adventure!
Skill Level: Intermediate level 1
Skill Details: Students should have completed about 10 sewing projects on their own. They should be comfortable operating and troubleshooting a sewing machine and maintaining a consistent seam allowance. Bag making can be finicky precision is important.
Vibe: Hands-On Focus. Skill-building and a little more structured. You’ll walk away with a finished piece and some new tricks up your sleeve.
